Family, Friends and The Razorbacks

Jeremy and I decided to head down to Little Rock this weekend to spend time with my family and watch the hogs play at War Memorial Stadium.   We should have known part of the weekend was doomed (haha, poor little hogs) before we even left Bentonville.  The skies turned an earie grey and as I was driving home from work, whole families were standing in their yards watching the clouds as they tumbled in.  When I see people outside looking up at the sky, I start to get a little freaked.  I had just pulled into my garage when the bottom literally fell out of the sky.  Jeremy had beat me to my house, so we quickly grabbed my bags and left trying to beat the weather.  It took us about 45 minutes to reach Fayetteville, and with the weather being clear, we decided to grab dinner and run by Bed, Bath & Beyond to pick up a shower gift.  Bad decision, as Jeremy then had to drive in the monsoon like weather the entire way to Cabot.  Poor honey.  We made it to Cabot around 10:30 Friday night, pretty much exhausted.

Saturday morning we cooked breakfast with my parents, and then Mom and I headed to Chenal to do a little quick shopping.  My sister met us over there with my precious neice Heelyn.  I take any opportunity I can to spend time with her because it KILLS me that I live so far away and can't spend more time with her!  She's getting to such a fun age and says the funniest things!

After shopping, we grabbed a quick bite at Chick-Fil-A and who doesn't love playing in the play area?  Heelyn didn't want to leave, I can't blame her!

Jeremy spent the afternoon grilling out with friends, and then I met up with everyone and we all headed to War Memorial to cheer on our hogs!

All I'm going to say about the AR vs. ULM game was I had a very sad, depressed fiance driving me home that night.

Sunday we went to church at New Life in Little Rock.  Neither Jeremy nor I had ever attended NLC before and we both loved it.  The pastor is absolutely hillarious!  He also tells everything just how it is which we both love.  I think we will have to add him to our list of podcasts that we enjoy listening to.  Lunch was at Taziki's, and then we headed back so Mom and I could attend a Bridal Shower and Dad and Jeremy could golf.

One of my childhood friends, Christi, is getting married in a little over a month!  I will be the last of us to get married, I can't believe it.  I remember talking back in high school and we always thought I would be the first!  Ha.   Little did we know ;)

Anyway, Christi met her future hubby Chad in high school and even though they have lived in different places for much of their relationship, they made it work and are going to finally become husband and wife!  I'm extremelly happy for her, Chad's a great guy!  It's so crazy to think of the first bridal shower we all attended together, to some of the lasts.... we are seasoned pros by now :)

It was great to get to catch up with some of my closest, longest girlfriends... whom I wish lived closer to me!  Although I absolutely cherish my college friends and beyond, no one understands you quite like the girls who you attended every school prom, cheered beside, and graduated with.  Although the friendships may change, the bonds are forever.

Football, Football & an Engagement Party

This weekend was jam packed.  Friday evening I convinced Jeremy to take me to a local boutique called Riffraff to pick up a Razorback Tee I wanted to wear on Saturday, and then to eat greek food.  After our quick dinner (and a trip to buy a rainjacket), I headed back to Bentonville to help coach the Varsity Cheerleaders at the BHS vs. Kansas City Rockhearst game.

Even though it was rainy and pretty miserable weather-wise, I had a great time coaching the older girls and cheering the Tigers on for a win!  I didn't realize just how much I would enjoy coaching varsity, but the environment just makes it a blast!

My parents came up late Friday evening, and were just pulling into town when I got home.  Saturday morning Mom, Dad and I went for brunch at Mimi's and then did a little shopping. Jeremy opted out on the shopping in favor of tailgating ;)

We ventured to the grand opening of Cabela's along with the rest of Northwest Arkansas.  It was crazy packed!  So neat though to have such a big buisness opening in our little corner of the world.  The guys from Duck Dynasty were even there!!!

After shopping for a little while, Mom and Dad dropped me off at the tailgate.   It was great getting to talk to all the girlfriends, wives, fiances, etc. of all the guys Jeremy went to college with and who are life-long friends now.  I'm happy all of us girls get along so well :)  The guys don't even seem to complain TOO much when we leave the tailgate to hit up a boutique :)

After tailgating for a while, we headed down to the stadium to Call Those Hogs!  Razorback Football is probably Jeremy's first love and he was so excited for the 1st game of the season.  I was just excited to get to find a cute outfit to wear :)

We ended up winning against Jacksonville State 49-24 but let me tell you, it wasn't pretty there for a while.

After the game, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Jeremy's former roommate, Ryan and his fiance Courtney.  Courtney and I get along really well and I was so glad they were in town!  We ended up staying at BWW until after midnight, just talking and catching up.  I hate it that Ryan and Jeremy don't hang out as much as they would like since they live in Dallas now.  Oh well... that just means lots of Dallas trips in our future :)

Sunday was a day we've been looking forward to for a while!  Our family engagement party!  We invited our families to lunch at Mojitos so everyone could formally meet each other before the wedding.  My grandparents and one of my sisters were able to come along with my parents.  Jeremy has a really big family and so we had a large group full of grandparents, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Although it was a bit overwhelming for me at first (walking into a room FULL of people!) I was so glad everyone got along and had a great time.

After lunch was finished, everyone departed to go shopping and Jeremy, Kyle and Dad played golf.  What a surprise.  Haha.

Whew!  What a crazy, busy weekend but we are SO thankful to have been blessed with wonderful families that are just as excited about our big day as we are :)
